1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using BioTransfer ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BioTransfer is a file transfer service designed for biologists and researchers to securely share large files such as genomic datasets, microscopy images, and experimental results. The Service allows users to upload files, generate shareable download links, and optionally notify recipients via email.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide a valid email address when using the Service.
• Not upload files that contain malware, viruses, or harmful content.
• Not use the Service for illegal purposes or to distribute copyrighted material without authorization.
• Not attempt to circumvent file size limits or other restrictions.
• Not abuse, overload, or interfere with the Service infrastructure.

4. File Storage & Expiration

• Free users: Files are stored for up to 2 days and then automatically deleted.
• Pro users: Files are stored for up to 30 days with extended features.
• BioTransfer is not a file storage service. Users should maintain their own backups.
• We reserve the right to delete files that violate these terms at any time.

5. File Size Limits

• Free users: Up to 2 GB per transfer.
• Pro users: Up to 20 GB per transfer.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to files you upload. BioTransfer does not claim any ownership over your content. We do not access, read, or use the contents of your files for any purpose other than enabling the file transfer.

7. Prohibited Content

You may not upload:

• Malicious software or code.
• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Illegal, harmful, or offensive material.
• Personal health information (PHI) unless properly encrypted — BioTransfer is not HIPAA-compliant.

8. Advertising

BioTransfer displays advertisements through Google AdSense and sponsored backgrounds from partner organizations. These ads help keep the Service free for all users. Ad-free experience is available to Pro subscribers.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data integrity, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements. Use BioTransfer at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

BioTransfer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, including data loss, transfer failures, or security breaches.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
