Join the laboratory of Sustainable Resources at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant (14 hours per week) to contribute to a project focused on Metagenomic study of Microbial Communities in Wood Decay.

Job Description

• Laboratory safety, purchase and bookkeeping
• Field Survey of Wood Structure Decay
• DNA Isolation and Quality Control
• Metagenomic Sequencing
• Bioinformatics Analysis
• Cultivation and Isolation of pure strains
• In Vitro Wood Decay Analysis
• Microbiome Database Creation

  Requirements

  • A good bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Competence in general molecular biology laboratory techniques, with relevant experience in fungal research and aseptic culturing.
  • Experience in bioinformatics, particularly in genomic or metagenomic data analysis, will be advantageous.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
