Join the laboratory of Sustainable Resources at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant (14 hours per week) to contribute to a project focused on Metagenomic study of Microbial Communities in Wood Decay.
Job Description
- Laboratory safety, purchase and bookkeeping
- Field Survey of Wood Structure Decay
- DNA Isolation and Quality Control
- Metagenomic Sequencing
- Bioinformatics Analysis
- Cultivation and Isolation of pure strains
- In Vitro Wood Decay Analysis
- Microbiome Database Creation
Requirements
- A good bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- Competence in general molecular biology laboratory techniques, with relevant experience in fungal research and aseptic culturing.
- Experience in bioinformatics, particularly in genomic or metagenomic data analysis, will be advantageous.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
