Full-Time Open Rank (Asst. Professor, Assoc. Professor, Professor): Data Scientist, Research – (Tenure Track) 

The College of Dental Medicine (CDM) at Columbia University is seeking full-time tenure track open-rank research faculty in Data Science and one of the following fields: Bioengineering, Systems Biology, or Orally Related Diseases. 

Reporting to the Section Chair, the Data Science – CDM faculty is expected to develop, sustain, and lead an active, highly visible, externally funded research program with outstanding scholarship and to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring students at all levels, including those in our DDS/PhD program. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Data Science Institute. 

A successful candidate will have demonstrated evidence of scholarly impact through publications and the potential to conduct pioneering research; to obtain funding support; and to collaborate, teach, and mentor effectively. In addition to technical and scientific knowledge, the candidate of choice will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary research setting. 

Our top-tier research institution provides extensive opportunities for collaborations across the University and Medical Center, in addition to collaborations with fellow researchers within CDM.

Requirements 

PhD in cancer biology, immunology, systems biology, bioengineering, computational biology, computer science, applied math, or dental and/or medical degree with equivalent research experience.
